Good software to learn Spanish?

REV TEXAS asked:

I feel software is may be better for me than books. I hear Rosetta Stone is the best, but I know some basic conversational spanish already, and I’m hispanic and my parents speak it, so I would only spend that much If I had know clue. Even though I know some spanish I would like to start over at a beginners level. I need somthing that is also good with learning to pronounce words too. I know the words to say in a conversation but im afraid to say them because they come out wrong. I cant even pronounce my own last name its hard to roll the Rs. And if it teaches writing thats good to. I saw one for $39 at office depot called Berlitz Spanish Premier. That one would be good because I dont have to order online, but is it any good? Their are so many on amazon.com. I would like someting under $125 and for Latin American Span(Mexico). Any thing you recommend? If you tried something good please also describe how it works and features like for ex. does it let you pronounce in an mic.
I just saw the Rosetta website $550 for all three levels! Or about 225 a peice.

I live in the Kansas City area and want to learn conversational spanish – but how?

Vince V asked:

I’ve taken classes (high school), done the books and tapes, but I’m convinced that I can’t learn it unless I can use it somewhere. Does anyone know of any groups or clubs or places online where I can practice spanish with others who speak the language?

Where can I learn conversational Spanish in Dallas, Texas?

Kelson asked:

I’ve been trying to find a community college or international organization in the Dallas, Texas area that offers practical courses in conversational Spanish, but am not having any luck. Does anyone know where I can take a class locally? So far, all I can find are online or software courses and private tutors (which I cannot afford). If I have to, I’ll go the online/software route, but I prefer to interact with other people, since it helps me learn much faster. Thanks!
